Compliance and transaction review with the banking provider
Compliance and transaction review with the banking provider
The published limits for the banking provider's virtual accounts do not remove the compliance processes applicable to operations. An operation may be subject to additional controls even when the corresponding transaction type has a limit published as unlimited.
Compliance processes
Transactions may be subject to:
- AML: anti-money laundering checks.
- KYB: business verification.
- RFI: requests for additional information.
- SoF: source of funds verification.
Manual review
The banking provider may submit certain transactions to manual review. This means that an operation falling within the limits of a virtual account is not guaranteed to be processed automatically. Operations remain subject to the compliance processes and the applicable rules.
Refunds
A refund may occur when a transaction cannot be completed. The published limits should therefore be understood as conditions of the operations, not as an exemption from the banking provider's verification and compliance processes.
Limits and compliance
For example, an operation may appear as unlimited for a given type of deposit or payment and still be subject to review, a request for additional information or source of funds verification. Limits, available rails and compliance processes must be considered together when carrying out an operation through a banking provider virtual account.
