# How does cloud backup work?

###### How does cloud backup work?

Cloud backup is an optional ebioro feature that allows you to securely store a copy of the information needed to recover your wallet if you switch devices or reinstall the app. Since ebioro is a non-custodial wallet, you remain in control of your funds. Backup does not mean that ebioro holds your assets or has access to them.

**Where is the backup stored?**

Your ebioro backup is linked to a cloud storage service associated with your account. Currently, ebioro only supports backups through:
* Gmail (Google Drive)
* iCloud

If you choose to enable backup, the app will request permission to create and manage only the backup files it generates, which are stored in a dedicated folder within your Google Drive or iCloud. This permission does not allow the app to access, modify, or delete your other personal files stored in these services.

**What should you keep in mind?**

Remember that anyone who has access to your Google or iCloud account and your backup may, in certain cases, be able to restore your wallet. Therefore, in addition to enabling backup, we recommend protecting your account with two-factor authentication.

This way, ebioro's cloud backup allows you to recover access to your wallet if you switch devices, while ensuring that you remain in full control of your funds.
